Even though we are imperfect, God made a way to reconcile himself to us through Jesus who died to take away the penalty of sin and death. He loves us so much that He says, “No matter what your circumstances, come as you are.” But God never wants us to be complacent. Through repentance, the Holy Spirit transforms us into new beings, replacing sin with love, holiness, and unity.
God calls us to a countercultural life where we reconcile ourselves with Him AND one another to display the love and power of the Gospel. However, reconciliation cannot happen without truth. God wants us to love and respect the human dignity of EVERYONE.
Glorifying god through unity and diversity
1:17 comes from the Bible verse Isaiah 1:17. MSU Project 1:17 recognizes oppression is real and that God calls for justice. We want to display a Christlike love that seeks to understand our differences while knowing that our value is equal in the eyes of God.
By facing the truth about oppression/discrimination in our society, campus, and even the church, God can change hearts, heal wounds, and reveal His glory.
implementing unity
We envision a campus where Christians of different backgrounds and ethnicities can come together as one community, displaying the love of Jesus Christ to one another.
MSU Project 1:17 seeks to create unity through authentic bonds via:
Community building activities, so people of diverse backgrounds can come together on a regular basis
Providing educational opportunities for our members to learn about each other and the communities we live in.
No matter your background, we invite you to check out our events activities and get involved.
