April 10, 2018 Uprooting racism from the church is no easy task, and we cannot uproot something we ignore or do not understand. MSU Project 1:17 invited faith leaders of various backgrounds to begin discussing racism and its impact on the Christian community, individuals, and faith.

Listening is the beginning of learning about those different from ourselves. MSU Project 1:17 hosted an open mic night for Christians to proclaim their faith, testimonies, and experiences with identity. The night consisted of a line-up of students performing, telling their stories, and dancing.
Day of giving.

MSU Project 1:17 collaborated with SAO and BYX to give out stress relief gifts during finals week. We hoped to bring smiles to people's faces and include encouraging messages and scripture.
Racial Reconciliation Prayer and Worship Night.

MSU Project 1:17 held a racial reconciliation prayer and worship night in collaboration with the MSU gospel choir. We painted The Rock with prayer requests, worshiped, and prayed in community.
